Hi, my name is Bufflyn, but my friends also call me Big Buff, Fluffy Buffy, Buffalo, and Buff Buff.
I’m a 5-year-old Golden Retriever named after former Winnipeg Jet Dustin Byfuglien.
I had a bit of a different start to life, as I was rehomed when I was just a puppy. It turned out to be the beginning of the best adventure, and now I have the perfect family for me.
I recently passed my St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program evaluation, and I am excited to begin visiting my community. I hope to bring a smile to everyone I meet and make many new friends along the way.
I love spending time outdoors, especially on forest walks, and patrolling my backyard. I enjoy standing on my back legs to peek into holes in trees, looking for my “friends” (the squirrels). One quirky thing about me is I love chasing bird shadows—so much so that balls and frisbees often become shadow-chasing adventures instead.
At home, you can often find me sitting quietly in front of the oven watching cookies bake, or observing my axolotl friends as they swim in their tank.
More than anything, I love people. I make a point of greeting everyone we meet on walks, and children are some of my favourite humans. I have a naturally calm and gentle disposition, and almost nothing fazes me, which helps me bring comfort to people who may be nervous around dogs.
I can’t wait to meet you, say hello, and hopefully brighten your day with a wagging tail and a friendly presence
