My name is Rusty, but my CKC Registration papers say Cassbar’s Rusty Sriracha Saucy Rooster. I’m a SHELTIE! And that means I’m smart, fast, cute, fluffy, and kinda sassy.
My name comes from a famous dog who wore red glasses and visited St Boniface Hospital for many years. The Rooster part is because I LOVE to scratch around in the dirt. Or blankets. Or the carpet. I’m not picky. I was going to be a show dog but my bottom teefs didn’t cooperate. I love to be petted and I love to play, especially with my adopted big sister, and especially with whatever toy she was planning to play with.
I am a St John Ambulance Therapy Dog and I have visited hospitals, schools, and a home that cares for older people, and a bunch of special events. I’ve also been to the Winnipeg Police Headquarters where the Therapy Dog visits are very popular with the 911 call centre team.
In 2025 I helped respond to the MB Wildfire Evacuations by visiting the Red Cross shelters in Winnipeg.
